Created in 1937, the College of Fine Arts is one of the nation’s leading public colleges for the study of the fine and performing arts. It boasts internationally honored faculty in classical music, jazz, drama, theatrical design, dance, design, and the visual arts; and world-renowned performers presented by the Performing Arts Center. The college sets the bar high in preparing students for the practice, study, criticism, and teaching of the arts while energizing Texas’ creative, cultural, and economic leadership nationally. It advances the arts through research and the creation of original works while offering performances and exhibitions to deepen understanding of the arts, educate and expand audiences of all ages, and improve the quality of life for all Texans.
