The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work is ranked a “best school” by U.S. News & World Report, moving from 10th to sixth in less than 10 years. Its collaborative learning environment supports excellence in research on social problems, applying new knowledge to complex policy issues and strengthening performance of nonprofit organizations in Texas, the nation, and the world. The school’s future challenge is to move from sixth to first among the nation’s best social work programs. Enrollment in the school’s undergraduate and graduate programs — BSW, MSSW, and PhD — has increased by 35 percent in the past 10 years to more than 700 students, and growth is expected to continue in the next two decades. The school’s 5,500 alumni are committed to public service in the nonprofit, government, education, and business communities. How We’re Changing the World
