Every dollar an undergraduate student gives to UT will be matched by alumni to support the UT Student Emergency Fund.
The Student Emergency Fund, part of the Office of the Dean of Students, is here to help Longhorns when they need it most. The fund has helped students:
Find flights to attend funeral services for immediate family members.
Recover after a burglary by lending a hand with some of the financial burden of replacing clothes, computers, and more so that they can focus on their studies.
Pay for medical tests and treatments after sudden diagnoses of serious medical conditions.
We do all this — and much more — entirely with donations from people like you.

If you’re asking why you should give to UT …
The simple answer is this: Our supporters provide 75 percent of the funds for UT’s overall budget. Contrary to popular belief, tuition and fees only cover 25 percent of our budget. The rest comes from other sources. Sources like you.
Generous alumni will match your gift.
If you’re an undergrad who gives to your college, school, department — or whatever area you care about* — generous alumni will match every dollar to put toward the Student Emergency Fund. Your gift will not only help your area of passion, it’ll help your fellow students, too.
