1883 Council

Members of the 1883 Council are the University’s up-and-coming alumni leaders. 1883 Council events and activities provide members with personal access to and involvement with top university administrators, faculty, and alumni. Through these interactions, members are kept informed of the University’s operational, academic, and financial challenges and opportunities. Council members, in turn, work with other alumni to strengthen relationships and increase philanthropic giving to The University of Texas at Austin.

Each council member attends Advisory Council meetings for a specific college, school or unit of The University of Texas to learn about the college, school or unit’s activities, challenges, and opportunities. In turn, council members report back to the group. Council members work with UT’s gift officers to actively engage other alumni in the University’s development efforts.

The 1883 Council was formed in 2007.
