Sijy M., College of PharmacyI first became interested in pharmacy when I saw the care my father received after he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I saw the pharmacists working alongside the doctors to help manage my dad’s pain. Though I’m sad he’s no longer here, I know he’d be proud that I’m now in the position to provide comfort to others the way he received comfort when he was in need.

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy provided me with incredible opportunities that will help me on my path to becoming a great pharmacist. Thanks to the support of alumni and friends like you, I was able to take part in a nationwide Student Clinical Skills Competition in Nevada. My teammate and I placed first among all teams representing the 102 colleges of pharmacy competing. This competition led in part to my upcoming residency at the University of California, San Francisco.

Your support can also help the college fund:

  • Student scholarships, which allow students to focus on their studies and take on leadership roles in student organizations.
  • Groundbreaking research like that being done to improve cancer treatment, treat alcohol addiction, and create vaccines for infectious diseases.
  • The William Arlyn Kloesel Endowment for Excellence in Pharmacy, which will honor retiring faculty member Arlyn Kloesel and help future generations of pharmacy students pursue their dreams at UT.

Make your gift online today, and help other young pharmacists have the opportunities to make advances in the field that will help change the world.

Sincerely,

Sijy M., ’10
