Why is The University of Texas at Austin trying to raise $3 billion during the Campaign for Texas? It isn’t just to become the nation’s top public research university, although that is one of our aspirations. But our ultimate goal is simple: to make the world a better place. Here’s what you’ve helped us accomplish so far:
• Funding dozens of new professorships and chairs to support our faculty and their research.
We’re not done. We’re also working on raising our four-year graduation rate, with a goal of 70 percent by 2017. We’re preparing to break ground on the Engineering Education and Research Center and Robert B. Rowling Hall, UT’s future home of graduate business education. Also on the horizon: Dell Medical School, which will welcome its inaugural class in 2016.
Our reputation is growing, too. U.S. News & World Report has rated UT Austin 16th among the nation’s public universities. Times Higher Education has named UT Austin among the world’s 25 best universities.
With the support of our alumni and friends, UT Austin can be No. 1 in the country. And along the way, we just might change the world.
