The College of Education consistently ranks among the best schools of education in the nation. In 2008, U.S. News & World Report ranked the college 10th among all colleges of education and fifth among public institutions of higher education; the Special Education department is ranked fourth and the Educational Administration department is ranked sixth. The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education is ranked in the top 15 doctoral granting programs in the United States by the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education, and our Sports Management Program is considered one of the top three in the world. The college has an outstanding teacher-preparation program. Graduates average a 96 percent pass rate on the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES).
