The Division of Recreational Sports is one of the oldest and largest collegiate recreational programs in the United States. Operating as a unit of The University of Texas Division of Student Affairs, RecSports employs 50 full-time staff members and 1,000 part-time student employees each year. Since its inception as Men’s Intramurals in 1916, RecSports has grown into one of the most popular and diverse programs on campus.

90 percent of the student population, or more than 45,000 different young men and women, participate in at least one aspect of RecSports.

UT students, faculty, staff, and other RecSports members generate more than 3.5 million hours of participation each year.

Participants enjoy access to 10 separate facilities, consisting of more than 500,000 square feet of indoor space and 40 acres of outdoor fields and courts.
