The Harry Ransom Center collects and preserves rare books, manuscripts, and other materials that deepen our understanding of literature, art, and culture. The Center enriches the intellectual life of the community by supporting scholarship in its collections and through its public exhibitions and programs. It is a vital, world-renowned Center that brings further distinction to The University of Texas at Austin. The Ransom Center further enriches the University and local communities by bringing important writers, scholars, and cultural figures to campus to deliver public lectures and meet with students. The Center also hosts symposia, film series, and other programs related to its collections.
