Since 1885 the Texas Exes has been a strong, cohesive source of support for The University of Texas. Its mission is simple: To unite, inform, and involve alumni and friends for the purpose of promoting, protecting, and preserving the University. With one of the broadest programs of fellowship and service of any alumni association in the nation, the Texas Exes boasts a membership of more than 80,000 dues-paying alumni and friends. Its campaign priority is the new 40 Acres Scholarship Program — merit-based full-ride scholarships offered to top UT students. The four-year scholarships for undergraduates will be augmented by enrichment opportunities that include community service, study abroad, and internships. When fully funded, the program will support 300 scholars (75 per year), making it one of the largest merit-based scholarship programs in the country.
