For nearly a century the Texas Natural Science Center has made significant contributions to scientific and public understanding of Texas biodiversity through leading-edge research and innovative outreach programs. Spanning the disciplines of biology, geology, and pale ontology, our research has produced collections of more than 6 million natural specimens. These collections provide a detailed picture of Texas biodiversity, past and present. Information from our collections is used by researchers, conservationists, educators, policymakers, and the public in developing environmental assessments and informing public policy on issues ranging from invasive species to emerging public health threats.
