Invest in Texas’ Future

Students admitted to The University of Texas at Austin are among Texas’ brightest high school graduates who have worked hard to earn their place on the Forty Acres — just like the Longhorns before them. Some of these talented students need extra support to manage the cost of tuition and rising living expenses in Austin.

Now is the time to support students and see your impact double. Take advantage of the Texas Challenge 1:1 scholarship gift match today while matching funds last. Your investment builds a pipeline of talent that will shape the future of our state and world.

Close the Gap

Recently the UT System Board of Regents committed to covering the cost of tuition for high-achieving students whose families have an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less, up from the previous $65,000 threshold. This commitment — which will support an additional 3,000 students in Fall 2025 — would not be possible without donors like you who continue rise to the Texas Challenge.

The program builds upon UT’s efforts to increase affordability and access for Texas’ top students, but gaps in resources persist for some future Longhorns.

How it Works

  • Make a gift of $125,000 or more to establish an endowed scholarship and it will be matched 1:1 through the Texas Challenge. The gift can be made outright or as a pledge payable for up to five years.
  • You pick the name of your endowment and forever link yourself or your loved ones to UT and generations of students who will be the leaders of the future.
  • If you have already supported the Texas Challenge, you can secure additional matching funds by making a one-time gift of $50,000 or more to your existing endowment.
  • You may choose to designate that your scholarship supports a student in a specific college, school or major, a particular Texas city or region, or any deserving UT student.
  • All scholarships will be awarded by UT’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to support middle- and low-income students as part of our Texas Advance Commitment.
When you make the gift of an unrestricted scholarship, you allow UT to support students where the need is greatest.

Support the Leaders of Tomorrow

These hard-working students have the drive to reach their goals, just like the Longhorns who came before them. Your support will launch them into the world ready to make an impact. They will become leaders in your communities, health professionals who care for your families, innovators who will solve society’s greatest challenges — the possibilities are endless.
