What made UT the right choice for you?
I was nervous about going out of state for college, but on my second day of touring the UT campus, I felt right at home. One of the beauties of UT is that it’s so big but feels so small because you meet so many cool people and you’re able to make lasting connections.

What made your time at UT memorable?
I joined a bluegrass band on campus, which is something I might not have had the chance to do elsewhere. Being at the UT vs. Kansas game during the 2023 season was the closest I’ve ever been to the field — and the game was a thriller! After that game, I knew we were going to be Big 12 champs.

How did scholarships support your academic journey?
The Forty Acres Scholars Program has been vital to my experience at UT. It was incredible to have a built-in group of colleagues and friends. Going through the past four years with the same group was so reassuring, and I have met some lifelong friends thanks to the program.

How do donors make a difference in a student’s life?
I have been very fortunate to have Dr. Mandell as my donor these past four years. I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know him outside of formal get-togethers. He’s been a wonderful guide for me, both personally and professionally. Donors can create bonds with students and can cause positive change in their life in more ways than one.

What’s next for you?
This fall I’ll be back at UT Austin to begin my master’s in aerodynamics.
