The Chevron Energy Graduate Fellowship

graduate students working on energy systems research
With an eye to the future, Chevron has established the Chevron Energy Graduate Fellowship in partnership with UT’s Energy Institute as well as colleges and schools across the University. The program supports graduate students in Chevron’s key disciplines of interest, providing UT’s promising energy influencers with financial assistance and facilitating connections between fellows and Chevron.

Each academic year, the endowment will provide $10,000 awards to several outstanding graduate students working on energy systems research led by the Energy Institute, Cockrell School of Engineering, McCombs School of Business, Jackson School of Geosciences, and Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs.

“Fostering education and research that will transform global energy systems is central to the Energy Institute’s role at UT.”
Brian Korgel, Director, Energy Institute

The award’s competitive application process prioritizes students whose work focuses on transforming the traditional oil and gas business of today, building the lower-carbon businesses of tomorrow and watching for future energy systems.

“Fostering education and research that will transform global energy systems is central to the Energy Institute’s role at UT,” said Brian Korgel, director of the institute and the Rashid Engineering Regents Chair. “The Chevron Energy Graduate Fellows Awards are an investment in UT’s continued leadership in this key area.”
